Red Herrings

Ingredients:
- 5 Table spoons of sugar
- 4 Table spoons Vinegar(I use the Danish kind, it's not so strong)
- 3 Table spoons Oil1
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- tomato ketchup until a nice red colour
Instructions:
Stir well, and then add Krydder herrings, if the Danish ones are not available
you can use 2 jars of red herrings from Waitrose. Perhaps 2 jars would be better
