About the Hampshire Anglo-Scandinavian SocietyThe society has a very active membership. A typical example of our annual calendar is set out below:
- AGM at Romsey Town Hall in February
- "Fastelavnsfest" during lent
- "Hyggefrukost" at one of our members home (ladies only)
- Spring Party to celebrate 17th May (Norway's National Day)
- Midsummer Party at Michelmersh.
- Crayfish Party in Alton (late August)
- Autumn gathering (walk gathering mushrooms, sloes etc followed by a pub lunch somewhere in Hampshire)
- Christmas Party (adults) in Otterbourne
- Childrens' Christmas Party in Beaulieu.
There is a regular newsletter setting out details of all the events and keeping members updated regarding any other matters that may be of interest, such as exhibitions, theatre trips and travel information.
Also by joining the "members only" website, it is possible for members to exchange any news items directly with each other, whether it is through the "Latest News" on the Members Home Page or directly through email.
Annual family membership is £10 and individual membership £7.50.
